Your body is an awesome invention. It holds all the keys to the universe locked way inside. Hi. What happens to a bicycle when you leave it sitting a long time without riding it? What happens to a car left months without being started or driven? The bike will creak and squeal when you try to ride it. The chain will be rusty and there's probably no air in the tires because of inner tube rotting. The car won't even start and once you have jumped the battery and started it, it will need an oil change, new gas, radiator flush, tire pressure revised and other things, maybe an automatic transmission oil change too.
Your body is no different!
The human body is no different. It will deteriorate and get stiff if you leave it parked for too long. Circulation will slow, nutrients will take longer getting into your system, and other functions will retard to levels sub-par to your normally expected functioning proficiency.
Regardless of our age we need to have a suitable exercise routine that we can apply 2 to 3 times a week to maintain a comfortable performance level in both our internal and external body functions. I think it's pretty common knowledge and most people already know this be true. And this is not to point a finger at you or anyone in particular. It's just me thinking out loud and maybe applying a little innocent prodding to those of you who may have lost sight of the fact. Besides, I'm gonna be needing you to be energized so you're motivated to read mine and other blogs that interest you. Exercise energizes us, stimulates and motivates us. What caused me to think about this was realizing that I lose my motivation to exercise the older I get! Are you exercising like you use too? Are you motivated like you use to be? Well if not, here are a few reminders to help you get it going and on your way back to being your old self again.
Three facts that we have to admit are true. And the longer we wait to get back into an exercise routine the harder it becomes to start doing something about it.
So stop putting it off! Weight that is gained during those times when we just lay around and do nothing is harder to take off later. Sex, a favorite among most of us, loses its intensity, as well as the desire to initiate it. Maybe that's no biggy, but it is an important part of our lives. Aspirations no longer appeal to us at the level they once did like they use to when we first got that spark, that initial prompting. Your get up and go, is gone. And if we get into a habit of accepting that condition we will fight less and less until one day we give up all together and it will become normal to us. We just don't care quite as much once we lose inspiration. And of course this hinders our ability to improve upon ourselves in other areas of our lives, income, relationships etc. Personal achievement slacks off and your level of joy and happiness drops a notch or two when that happens. So here's one really important thing to keep in mind.
Your body is awesome, it will respond!
Here's what I do to KICKSTART an exercise routine:
I don't exercise more than a half hour, that's all your body needs to wake up and start functioning at normal levels. You can break your workout into subroutines. Legs on Mondays, chest & stomach on Wednesdays, arms & back on Fridays, or Saturdays.
In fact, just 10-15 minutes of exercise in the morning is all the body needs to hang at a level of proficiency suitable for a healthy body and a healthy lifestyle. If you're eating right!
Overeating can cause you to lose your desire to exercise.
And don't take that for granted, what you eat will always make a big difference. Here are a few helpful reminders about food:
My body likes the vitamins from fruit, vegetables and fish. I feel better and there's more balance in my eating habits that way. Your body will probably prefer those too. A healthier better you is never too far away. It may seem that way, but its not, and never is. You can always make a difference in your mind and body with exercise. Okay well that's all. Just a little reminder. Alright, I hope this helps you get going again.
To a better you,
P.S. Oh, one more thing, any comments or suggestions you can add to this subject would be appreciated, Put them in the comment box so we can all benefit from your contribution on the subject too? Thanks,

Here's what I do to KICKSTART an exercise routine:- I walk to places I would normally drive to.
- I ride my bike to places that are too far to walk within a reasonable time.
- Then once I find myself feeling more energy I apply that new energy to EXTENDED STRETCHING routines. Be carefully with these, don't injure yourself. Go easy and slow. Do your research on stretching routines first. Any routine will do. Stretching routines are probably the best exercise routine jump starters. You can wait till the afternoons but mornings are best. Which ever suits you. After a week to 10 days of that:
- Start a cardio-Isotonics, cardio-Isometrics, or cardio- light weight lifting routine. Design a weight lifting routine that works stomach, back, legs and arms and chest.

And don't take that for granted, what you eat will always make a big difference. Here are a few helpful reminders about food:
- Eat fruit. Lost's of it.
- Drink lots of water everyday. Lots of it.
- Vitamins? I like natural vitamins, my body does better with them. Bottle vitamins work too, but they make me eat more during the day and evenings. Test to see what is best for you.
